At the Master Builders Australia national awards ceremony held at the Gold Coast, Manteena’s CEO, Simon Butt, graciously accepted the National Commercial / Industrial Construction Award in the $5 million to $10 million category for the CSIRO New Bioscience Laboratory.
The new facility provides international standard accommodation to meet CSIRO Entomology research needs and will enable the integration of laboratories, support facilities and equipment in a secure PC2 certified area, consistent with requirements imposed by OGTR for bio-containment work.
The project was immensely complex, due to the unique services required by the client in this facility. Works were undertaken with precise coordination to create a building which accommodates 55 scientific staff and caters for the intricate experiments they conduct.
Good vinyl and high quality internal finishes made this project a skilful success. Manteena and the architect (DJAS) also incorporated environmental sustainability in the design and construction of the building.
Manteena’s nomination in the national awards was made possible due to winning the Best Commercial Building in the $6 - $12M category at the Master Builders Association ACT Awards.
