GAIN KNOWLEDGEAND EXPERIENCEWHILE LEARNINGON THE JOB
As part of company’s commitment to training and career development, Manteena’s Cadet Program offers participants who are enthusiastic about a career in the construction industry the opportunity to work and gain experience through placements offered by either the Master Builders Association or the Construction Industry Training and Employment Association.
Participation in the program is full-time (usually 40 hours per week) and provides participants with practical skills and knowledge that they can use to enhance their future careers. Cadets undertake a wide range of tasks related specifically to the construction industry and cover many aspects of the business such as: job programming, tendering, contracts administration, job cost control, estimating, site supervision, site safety and labouring.
Cadets get paid whilst they learn and can choose from a number of different study options such as: Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Site Management), Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Contract Administration), Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Estimating), Diploma of Building and Construction (Management), or an Advanced Diploma of Building and Construction (Management).
Full time employment with Manteena for cadets upon completion of the program is dependent on the needs of the company, the availability of positions at the time and participants academic and work performance throughout the term of the cadetship.
Manteena is committed to a policy of Equal Employment Opportunity. In other words this means we encourage anyone with the required skills and attitude to seek employment with us – this includes men, women, people from a non-English speaking background, Indigenous Australians and older people who wish to continue in the workforce. Selection is based on merit.
For more information about the program please follow the links to either the MBA or CITEA.
“The Cadet Rotation Program enables me to experience a number of different roles in the business such as site supervision, estimating, site safety, project management & contracts administration. The skills and knowledge I’m gaining will provide me with a good foundation which I can build on as I embark upon a career in the industry”.
